KS Water Hub

To improve coordination across agencies, Governor Laura Kelly created the Kansas Water Subcabinet in the fall of 2023 to formalize cross-agency collaboration and planning on the state’s water quantity and quality priorities. Creating the subcabinet provides an efficient and practical internal forum for experts across several agencies to discuss water-related data and policy and strengthen state government initiatives on emerging and long-term water issues.
The Subcabinet consists of the following agencies:
- Kansas Water Office
- Kansas Department of Health and Environment
- Kansas Department of Agriculture
- Kansas Department of Commerce
- Kansas Department of Wildlife and Parks
After identifying that the wide array of state agencies that manage water may create barriers for partners seeking to find state services and funding, the Subcabinet launched the Water Hub. The Water Hub is designed to be a starting place for Kansans looking to learn more about Kansas water issues and access resources to address water issues in their communities.
